Do you want to be an entrepreneur?
I have an idea! One final lecture I can share about the BYU Idaho BUS 110 course; An Introduction to Entrepreneurship is the following: That’s right, I have an idea. Ideas are the first step in creating a plan, and a goal. If there were no plan, there would be no meaning to life. If there were no desire or hope, there would be no plan. Inside of every plan therein lies a goal; this is why it is called a start-up. Let’s take a cookie for example. In this business plan process, you should look at statistics in the field of choice, analyze diagrams or cash flow charts, and establish value proposition for key stakeholders. If you are shout on cash, the only 2 ways to start your business is with a loan (debt), or an investor.
If you want to be an entrepreneur, be yourself, find your
passion. It was once said by Thomas Monson that finishers need not just a “story”
as is commonly said today, but rather a vision, effort, faith, virtue, courage,
prayer. This is something realistic that only each individual has control over.
Once you have them, also only yourself can take it away from you. Nobody else
has the power to take those things away form you and they will carry on with
you to your next jobs through the veil of death, in that day when our Savior
Jesus Christ will come again and reign on Earth.
What words of advice, direction, or caution should I give you? Some vital
components you will need are passion, analytical skills, intuition, experience,
courage to try again, and luck. If you are not all of these in one, you will definitely
need a large team to help you out with each of these aspects in order to succeed.
Maybe if you are missing one or two you will still be fine. One would have to
be bold and brave to be able to ask someone to trust in your idea, and be an
investor.
